10 Campion (Silene tomentosa)
You can see this flower only in Gibraltar, a British territory. This species was declared as extinct in 1992, but in 1994 it was re- discovered in Gibraltar. Today, these flowers are present in the botanical gardens in Gibraltor and very few in London. The specimen of these flowers is now grown at Almeda Gibraltar Botanic Gardens and also at Royal Botanic Garden, London. The color of the flower range from pink to pale violet and looks very beautiful.
9 Parrot’s Beak (Lotus berthelotii)
This beautiful flower is considered extinct since the year 1884, but some believe that it is still alive. The flower derives its name from the shape of the flower that resembles the shape of the parrot’s beak. The plant is native to the Canary Islands. It is believed that Parrot’s Beak was pollinated by the sunbirds that are now extinct. Many experiments were carried out to find novel pollinators for this flower, but none of them worked out.

When the flower blooms, it has a specific fragrance just like soap’s odour. They got their name from the fact that they appear like floating like a ghost on cypress trees, where they grow in Cuba. The Ghost Orchid was considered for 20 years, but it is now a rare flower.
7 Kadupul Flower (Epiphyllum oxypetalum)
The flower is extremely beautiful and alluring. You can cultivate this plant easily, but if you want to see it, you will only get a chance in the mid night as the flower blooms in midnight and stays only before dawn. It blooms rarely. It is found in Sri Lankan forests. The flower carries a spiritual significance to the Buddhists as they believe that when the Kadupul blooms, the Nagas come from the heavenly houses and present the flower to Buddha as a gift. The white flowers look gorgeous and have delicate petals. In Japanese, Kadupul is translated as “Beauty under the Moon”.
6 Koki’o (Kokai cookei)
Native to Hawaii, the Koki’o is also a very rare flower. Ever since its discovery in the year 1860, Koki’s had been very difficult to propagate and was declared extinct in 1950. In 1970a survivor was re- discovered which got destroyed in 1978 by fire. But, it was sheer luck that a branch of the tree was saved and was grafted into twenty three trees at different places in Hawaii. The tree grows about 10 to 11 meters in high and carries numerous bright red flowers. The mature tree produces these flowers annually.
